Application…
Hello Everyone. I am writing this entry to let you know that I have, as of today, sought employment in the Houston area again. I have sent two applications to two different music schools in the Greater Houston Area, and am excited to say that I have an interview with one of them tomorrow. I have yet to hear back from the other one, but am keeping my fingers crossed that something good will progress.
This means I will possibly be teaching violin and viola again! It has been five months since giving my last lesson in Sugar Land. I am still a little jaded after how things went down with that particular music school. But, I am feeling well and am hoping to build good connections going forward.
What does this mean for the future? Well, violin practicing is going well and I am more than interested in progressing towards performing with the instrument. I have written in my journal that I think it will take 3-4 years before I fully unleash my playing for the public. These teaching positions could keep me afloat financially until then, not to mention the enrichment that comes from helping others with their instrument.
I could see myself, if given enough students to support this idea, moving into the Houston area within a year or so. I would love to establish a great connection with these schools and build upon this connection into a long-term commitment.
Also, after a move into the city, I could begin developing my own Home Studio of students, something I have wanted to do for a very long time. But, I don’t want to get to far ahead of myself. For now, I want to nourish the relationship with the schools to provide myself with the foundation necessary to thrive and make a move possible.
Again, crossing my fingers.
What can I say? Don’t give up on your passions. They can pay off in the long run.
I am still making art when the time to do so presents itself. Ah, recently I added some new artwork to the “Art” section of this website. You can view it there. Tell me what you think.
Amen!!! God is good.
Have a pleasant evening and blessings for the rest of the week.
Peace and love,
Travis
