Hello Again…
Hello everyone. I am excited to be writing to you again. Things have been a little unnerving the last few months, but nothing I am not able to handle.
For those that are unaware, I lost my job teaching near Houston a few months ago. It was a situation that I wish had not gone the way it did. Basically, there were some fundamental disagreements between me and the owner of the business. I developed feelings for a co-worker and let her know, which the owner responded to by letting me go. I feel it could have been handled differently, considering I was making such good progress with the students there. But, nonetheless, it was handled with me losing my job.
I was shocked initially, when I found out. I let them know my feelings about it, but they were not receptive in any way.
So, I decided I was finished trying to work for them.
I took some time off from teaching, but continued progress in visual art, violin and other things, too.
Well, I have some good news to share, I applied for two teaching jobs in Houston this evening. We will see what comes from putting my name back out there. I am very hopeful they are receptive because I simply love teaching violin and viola. Amen. The whole experience is a blast. Amen.
Also, I am raising the rates on my artwork. Recently, I made the decision to work with oil-based markers on canvas. The result is stunning, if I may say so myself. Maybe you have seen some recent photos on social media. I will be posting more photos of completed works as I finish them.
Finally, I may be entering a juried exhibition in the coming months. It takes place at a gallery I have been considering for a while for showing my art in Houston. I will let you know of my progress with this endeavor. If I hadn’t made the decision to go to canvas and use oil-based markers, I might not be doing this. But the result is captivating. Amen.
Thank you for reading my update. I hope all is well in your life.
Have a wonderful evening,
Travis Galbraith
