VIolin Studio…

Hello. I hope this entry finds you doing well today doing whatever you feel is important, if anything at all. Amen. Haha.

That said, things are looking up for me. I want to talk a little about where my heart has led me to this day.

First of all, the Cleveland dream is officially over. Amen. Yes, there was a time when I thought Cleveland, OH would be my home. Amen. I had a few dreams in association with the city and the music scene, not to mention a number of people that I thought would be there for me, but are not. I am not mad about this because I recognize that these people are no longer a part of my life because my heart has led me beyond all of it.

My heart told me some time ago that the quartet dream wouldn’t happen with the people that I have been focusing on (due to their talent). I began this dream while attending the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Over the years, I thought that this dream would come together at a later date. I thought it would happen after I progressed to a certain degree on the instrument. Well, after noticing over recent years that my playing was reaching new heights, I thought, well, I’m ready for the quartet. Well, it has not come together, and now I can honestly say my heart has led me into a different direction. One that includes playing the violin and following my heart to wherever it leads me.

I feel in my heart, I know specifically where I will be playing in years to come. Houston is where I believe (after following my heart) that I will reside and play for many people over the years.

So, in essence, my heart has officially shut the door on all those old dreams and is starting something new for me to focus on.

That said, I would love to begin teaching everywhere from Galveston to Houston. Amen. I am currently asking to teach students in their home, as I do not have a studio space currently. It is part of my new dream that I will be teaching from my home (or apartment) when I am prepared to do that. But, as many of you know I am still trying to figure out the way I will move out from under my parents’ roof. I believe at this time that teaching will be the way I do it. I am starting from zero students and hope to have a full studio in order to move into Houston and live in an apartment, initially.

That said, I do indeed have a long way to go in terms of recruiting students. This website lists my fees as well as details about my approach to teaching. I do, in fact, teach all levels of violin as I am open to anyone on any level that has interest in making progress in music together. Amen.

With that said, if you know of anyone that needs a teacher and lives in Galveston or Houston or anywhere in between, let me know. Also, I teach viola as well, all levels. Amen.

Anything else?

Ah, I am still playing at the AOP Gallery on Postoffice St. in Galveston when I feel the desire to do so. It has been very cold here recently, so I have not played because I thought there would be very little people out and about. But, if you want to her me play and check out my art hanging on the walls of the gallery, reach out to me and we can set a time to meet.

Also, I am making a sign to promote my teaching while I play at the gallery. Stoked about that. Amen.

Anything else?

Oh, lastly, I would like to thank everyone who has been there for men on any level, whether it’s been in person or just in thoughts, for I am exceedingly happy with where I am today. It has been a long haul, but everything is going well, finally.

That said, thank you.

Peace and Love,

Travis Galbraith
